From June 3 to 8, Aalen University, one of the founding members of the recently established Qⁿ Alliance alongside nine other European universities, hosted its International Week. This alliance aims to jointly promote the development of the European education system and support each other in the process. The International Week provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen cooperation within this young alliance. In addition to the 10 universities in the alliance, there was participation from the following countries: Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Israel, Namibia, Thailand, Czech Republic, Ukraine, and the USA.
The event brought together professors from European and non-European countries, who contributed with a total of 25 lectures in English, presenting students with current and global research topics. With a look into space, Aalen Professor Dr. Miranda Fateri spoke about her research on moon dust.
One of the highlights of the week-long event was a workshop on international research collaborations, which was also attended digitally by other partners. The aim was to identify common research interests and potential future research activities. Around 50 researchers from around the world attended the workshop.
According to Prof. Dr. Anja Dieckmann, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, “promoting internationalisation is one of the university’s strategic goals.”
The international program also benefited a group of 16 students from Colombia, who visited the university to learn about study opportunities.
